Quick update: KIP, FO, UFO and sock yarn...

Yes, I was able to knit in public on the 9th. I spent a few fun hours with members from my knitting group at Denny's. It wasn't my first or even my second choice of locations but it was 9pm before things really got going and the other two venues were already closed :(

I am working on a hat for my dad for father's day. It's not all that difficult, I just wish my dpns were longer!!!! I've been slipping stitches and diving after them with my trusty crochet hook LOL!

I finished one washcloth in a double moss pattern but I also still need to crochet (possibly knit if I can find a FAST pattern) up a couple more washcloths for a gift basket. Meanwhile, I look longingly at my small sock yarn bag (too small to call it a stash LOL) because what I really want to be doing is working on socks :)

Wow, KIPPING in Antelope Valley? I can kind of see why it might take til 9pm (when it cools down) to get going. Socks are such fun projects, and you can knit them in the heat. Our WorldWide Knit in Public Day was held in San Diego's Balboa Park, where we have all our monthly group meetings. If you ever find yourself escaping down this way, give me a heads up, there is great knitting in the park, and it is cool, most days, in the summer.

I finally managed to turn my first short row sock heel last night. I don't think I'm hooked on socks yet (I do have one more skein of yarn after this pair), but I've been feeling fairly proud today {g}
